The war is almost here. Sixty seals have been broken, and the heavenly forces are being spread thinly to protect the remaining seals. Lucifer is growing restless in his prison just waiting to arise and cause chaos. More and more demons are slipping out among other creatures and there aren't enough hunters in the world to contain this. As the situation becomes more desolate, more angels are making their appearances in hopes to take back lost battle grounds so to speak. John is back and together with Castiel and Zachariah, all of them are determined to get Dean to fulfill his destiny and to win this fight.

Things have grown more tense between Sam and Dean. Dean is struggling to keep his brother by his side, but Ruby keeps manipulating him for her selfish reasons. Sam runs into a girl in a library, a hunter like himself, searching for answers to find her father. There's an attraction between the two, an easiness that brings them closer. But Sam has to choose, the demon blood, or the huntress that caught his eye?

On the other hand Dean encounters a girl in a bar, a huntress. Someone he has known for quite a long time being that she is Bobby's daughter! She and Dean had a fling in highschool, keeping it secret from John and Bobby until John drug Dean off on a hunt and she remained with her brother and father. Will sparks fly again? Can she bring Dean back to the guy he once was so he can buck up and save the world?

In the midst of all of this, four new demons are arising from hell. They are four of many Great Dukes of Hell who govern Lucifer's kingdom while he remains trapped in his cell. They are arriving to Earth however to help bring the apocalypse nigh unto the land, helping Lilith destroy seals and to prepare it for Lucifer's arrival. More and more archangels are being summoned to Earth to help the fight but divided, hunters and angels along cannot defeat demons and other supernatural beings. They are being made to make a decision to either place trust in each other to kill their common enemy, or to rot and burn in hell on earth.
