B had been planning this for days. No, not days, more like weeks. Yes, weeks. Weeks and weeks. Maybe nearly a month. It had been three months since his arrival and midway into his second week, he'd entirely shifted the basis of his wardrobe to match their mentor. As well as his restroom seeing as he had now learned to apply the necessary make up. Soon he'd be able to set up his sleeping schedule correctly and configure the required look; but right now, he couldn't just force the bags to darken. His usual posture had deteriorated, becoming something of habit along with his lifting of items with a mere two digits.
Spindly fingers pinched the pick between his fingers, ear pressed to the metal framing and listening keenly for the the tick. Just a few minutes before dinner would let out and he'd lose the chance. L may even make an appearance before then to avoid the traffic, but this had been the only time in the day he'd leave the Godforsaken room, dammnit. For dessert of all things.
Never for Nate, Mihael, oh, oh, and never Backup of course. If Lawli didn't have time to come to him, he'd be so kind as to take time out of his busy studying just for said detective. Oh, how sweet he was; L would certainly be proud. Impressed even considering the effort that went into thi--- Tick. A grin spread across his superficially pale features as he carefully swung the door open and slipped in, pressing it closed.
...
Exhale.
And... Feet twitched against the cold ground. The room almost seemed deserted. Freezing and nigh spotless save the hording of sweets centered around Lawli's desk. Oh, he could just imagine it. Those unnaturally thin legs hugged to his chest, fingers picking at the Hello Panda cookies, teeth savagely snapping their heads off while his free hand typed away and solved mind-boggling cases single-handedly. Literally. Snort.
Naturally gray-now black- hues noted the un-used bed, slipping over to the messy calendar and open window. Oh? Open, Lawli? How dangerous. Wouldn't have pegged you for someone trusting enough; perhaps you feel safe here? Hmn. This will probably change your viewpoint on the safety of Wammy's. Beyond trudged across the ground, mockingly nibbling on his thumb as he settled into his mentor's chair (knees to chest, of course) and opened the laptop. Ah, a password. How predictable. Safe but still cautious.
Fingers ran from the keyboard lazily to the sweets, tugging the jelly beans over to nibble on. As though he had all the time in the world. It was a visit afterall, he hsad never intended on leaving before needed. Wonder what Lawli would do~? Kick him out, call for help, offer conversation...? Ears perked as feet began to stomp across the house, rushing to finish whatever they could before it was lights out. Not like the majority of the children slept, anyways, nor the former resident. The kept bed was evidence enough if one didn't notice the heavy, dark bags.
The heavy footsteps silenced and tensed-moreso in excitement- at the quiet sound of the knob turning. Yes, yes, yes. All that work was worth it now.

L had left his room twenty-seven seconds early, the same as most days. Bar Tuesdays, on those days he had the food in his room due to Tuesdays being the days his brain works best. So he would spend all twenty-four hours of Tuesday working on cases, however today was not a Tuesday. Thankfully. Instead today was a Friday, and now he left his room exactly twenty-seven seconds before the food would be served. Why twenty-seven? That was how long it took him to get down to the hall and get the pudding, after all...he couldn’t waste any time waiting.
Opening the window he slowly begun to scale down the wall, he was only on the first floor and he could do the climb with his eyes shut. For the past year he had done it to get into and out of his bedroom, not once had he used to door ever since he set the simple trap upon it. A simple trick he had devised, using one of his hairs, which were a good few inches. He attacked them to the door, one end stuck to the door, while the other was attached to the frame. When the door was opened the hair would break, a simple tell tell sign someone had entered. However every night he had checked it, and every night the hair had been in one piece. So he had no worries, for the moment. After all, if someone got into his room un-detected her would pass other the title of L to the child. For there were many things within the room that would pick them up as soon as they entered the room.
Eventually he dropped from the wall, his feet digging into the muddy grownd. With a small smile he made his way towards the dining room. Whipping the mud from his feet as he entered the building, his hands dug deep into his trousers as he walked silently into the room. His eyes focusing on the pudding section. Many of the children watching with keen eyes, a few copying him in his slouched manner. Eventually he came to the pudding, seeing Watari L gave a faint nod as he pulled out a large tray and begun to stack many of the puddings onto it. Smiling at the creams and chocolates that would soon be within his mouth.
With that he turned heel and begun to scale the front of the room, he would door what he did every night. Check the hair, eat the food, check hair once more and the climb though the window once more and then begin his work on the cases. Yet this time was different, as he scaled up the stairs the children quickly rushed past him, lifting the tray he protected the food with all his skill and training. Eventually he came to his door as children entered their rooms, many calling out good night to each other.
But the hair was broken.
With that L let out a smile, so someone had dare to enter his room. There was no fear, only satisfaction. He wondered how long it would take someone to try and break into his room, after all many of the students would have thought L kept his secrets in his room. He wouldn’t blame them with that thought, however he would not hide the documents of data of the lessons or the crimes in his room. The chance of someone sneaking in would be too great.
The only thing was who had done it, there were two names that jumped out at L. Mello and B, they were the most likely to go to these extremes. Holding the tray in his left hand he gripped the door knob with his right, with no need to unlock it he twisted it and allowed the door to open slowly.
If he took one step forward he would be in the sights of the cameras, he wasn’t in the mood to be seen by the cameras yet. This could play to his advantage. As the door opened the gust of wind blew in, causing his hair to flutter around, and his shirt to flap lightly. With that he looked towards the computer, the man had dark hair, so it was not Mello.
[red] “So B. Find anything on the computer?”[/red]
He asked as his eyes wandered to the tray of good, grasping a small chocolate bisect in his right thumb and index finger and threw it into his mouth. He would be amazed, L was not stupid enough to leave anything to important on the laptop, past lessons and past crimes he would. He normally used the crimes for his lessons, yet all of the current lessons and crimes were on a memory stick that he kept with him at all times.
‘Does B know he is being reordered?’
The chances were yes, perhaps he knew of the cameras before and was able to shut them off remotely. After all, most of the children here had great skills with the computers of today. With that L begun to rub his feet together, ridding a small itch that had decided to gather. B may be good with computers, but L was sure Watari had greater skill.

The slouch Beyond had adopted faded as he leaned back and tilted his head, glancing behind him at Lawli. Oh? Not coming any closer than? He had been correct, even the man’s own room was under surveillance. How awkward. He wondered if he might perchance be able to attain the footage. Witnessing L's daily life behind closed doors, unaware of an spectators other than Watari, now that would be interesting. But of course, it would take much more scheming. And the current plan was still in motion. Need to focus. Pale lips twitched cheerfully upwards as he pushed at the desk, successfully spinning the chair.
“I’m not wasting my time with it. I doubt someone as paranoid as you would allow that possibility. It’s so easy to break in, afterall. Even Mello may have managed. Then again…”
The grin grew slightly more amused, always aching to shift to real names. But no, no, not until the right moment. This was hardly the right moment. And already, the longer he considered it, the more absurd it sounded. Mihael was too loud and too sloppy. Rightfully intelligent and especially determined but not tactful at all.
“Hmn. So is Watari hurrying over then~?” Teeth abused his thumb, dark orbs dancing over to the barely visible camera lens. “To save his dear L from dangerous me? I do promise I had only come to converse. You seem so~ lonesome, never leaving your room unless absolutely necessary. And it wounds me to say I’ve yet to receive even one visit.”
He appeared quite upset for an inkling of a moment, though it quickly dissipated. He was indeed bothered. But it tickled fury moreso than depression, as the case was with A. He wondered how said child would do it. Rope, slicing, perhaps poison; unlikely he'd manage a gun. He could warn Lawli but… where would the lesson in that be? Besides, there was still some time to go.
The student lowered his chin to his knees and watched, almost wondering what L would do. He certainly seemed calm but having someone break into his room, possibly upset the balance of his usual environment, it mustn’t be entirely peaceful within that brilliant mind. After a few seconds, he lowered his feet to the ground (sitting almost normal) before he rose to stand and his back cracked painfully as he stretched. Coming in, seeing Lawli’s room this way, that was enough for him. He’d hoped for more but if Watari was truly coming, he barely had five minutes. Still enough.
“Hmn, tell me Lawli, why don’t you ever stop by to converse with a possible successor?” His head lulled lazily, playful grin still in place. “I am nearly top student afterall. Is it-perhaps-that I make you nervous~~?”

L watched B carefully as his head twisted to face him, a small smile had spread across the child’s face. He seemed pleased to see L, so he wanted to meet L? It wasn’t that he was trying to find something as such, but he wanted to meet L, perhaps test him in a way. With that L showed no emotion, but it seemed this would be an interesting challenge. Was B trying to show his supremacy? It seemed likely, after all, this boy was known for trying to prove his worth. Yet again, contradicting that point...most of the kids were trying to prove their worth.
“I’m not wasting my time with it. I doubt someone as paranoid as you would allow that possibility. It’s so easy to break in, afterall. Even Mello may have managed. Then again…”
L stood still at the words, itching the bottom of his chin he turned to look at his deserts. With a small smile he dug his spoon into the vanilla ice cream and quickly put the spoon into his mouth. The coldness he was use to, but it was always refreshing. Yet it was interesting to hear B throw an insult at Mello, was it a general hate towards Mello or was it one that spread to everyone? Including L?
“Hmn. So is Watari hurrying over then~?”
L begun to shake his head from side to side as B spoke the words, [red] “Watari has no need to rush here, after all only you are in my room.”[/red] He said with a calm voice, no emotion betraying his motive. Yet he was interested in B, how would he react to the words. Would he take them as an insult? If so how would be react, he seemed to be the kind to stay calm. Yet breaking into L’s room could be seen as rash.
“To save his dear L from dangerous me? I do promise I had only come to converse. You seem so~ lonesome, never leaving your room unless absolutely necessary. And it wounds me to say I’ve yet to receive even one visit.”
L turned his head towards B with the first word, taking another scoop of the Ice cream he gave a small smile to the boy. [red] “Converse...”[/red] L repeated with a small smile as he dug into the ice cream once more. [red] “I have no real need to converse B.”[/red] He said, chuckling to himself at the thought of talking to everyone. What a waste of time that would be. Eventually he placed the tray on the floor beside him, leaving the spoon in the ice cream, slouching forward he dug his hands into his pocket.[red] “B, you are one of many that have not got visits...after all...everyone here is special...Just like Mello.”[/red] He said, wondering how B would react being seen as equal to all of the students in the house.
One thing that L took into consideration as he got a better look at B was the way he sat, just how L sat. It soon became apparent that B was copying him in every way he could. Perhaps that was why he had broken into L’s room? With that B came off of the chair and stood tall, stretching as if not caring he had broken into a room.
“Hmn, tell me Lawli, why don’t you ever stop by to converse with a possible successor?”
L shut his eyes for a moment, his bags becoming very apparent. Lawli? How on earth did B know his name was Lawliet? L only ever went by L, never had he used Lawliet. However, this would be something he would figure out later on, at the moment he had other things to worry about. With that pushed to the back of his mind L spoke [red] “As you should know, I am always busy. After all, I should not need to talk to you B, you would be fine without my words. Correct?”[/red] L asked, wondering why B felt the need to talk to him so much.
“I am nearly top student afterall. Is it-perhaps-that I make you nervous~~?”
L plucked his right hand from his back pocket as he scratched the back of his head, [red] “Not at all...after all B, as you stated. You are nearly top, not top.”[/red] He said, neither a smile nor a frown on his face as he spoke. Yet still the question throbbed in his head.
‘How did B know his name was Lawliet?' [/size][/font]
